Ambassador yoga was started by two kids yoga teachers who got inspired watching the kids they were teaching grow up.
As the children became tweens, then teens, the two teachers noticed kids yoga classes just weren’t suited for the needs of these growing students. Youth wanted yoga to serve their interests and lifestyle and got excited by the idea of continuing yoga with the goal of becoming a yoga teacher.
Teens were getting their drivers licenses, becoming life guards and camp counselors, some were working part time in service industries and retail. If teens can do all this, the teachers wondered, why can’t they become yoga teachers?
And so the Ambassador Yoga Teacher Training was born.
The 200 hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School is geared towards kids who have been taking yoga for a number of years already. It serves those kids who have already been attending yoga at school or studio classes.
This Yoga Teacher Training is led by fully certified and qualified experienced yoga teachers. The faculty is expanding with new Experienced Yoga Teachers who are interested in becoming Teacher Trainers. If that sounds like you, you can get more information here.
To me, yoga is a dance between empowering techniques and the most gentle security blanket. Yoga is a forgiving, yet encouraging practice, resulting in strength, flexibility and clarity. I love guiding people of all ages through yoga practices so they may obtain the peace and balance they require and deserve.
My yoga journey began in 2002, when I entered a studio, hopeful to find relief from chronic neck pain. Within only a few classes, I found that relief, along with an inspired sense of purpose and a deep appreciation for the physical body and it’s abilities.
I immediately began yoga teacher training to learn more about yoga’s healing possibilities and preventative philosophies.
In 2006 I began guiding adults through alignment based and breath focused Ashtanga classes, adding prenatal, restorative and children’s classes to my schedule in 2008.
I still love practicing yoga, teaching the poses and guiding classes. Classes and training takes place at the Yoga Truly studio in Grimsby, Ontario.
